What is Top Eleven - Be A Football (Soccer) Manager all about?

Almost 12 million players can't be wrong! Top11 is one of the biggest and still-fastest-growing football manager apps on the web.

A Simple to use interface but complex games engine makes this the most addictive game online.  It is also free at the point of use and not paying for extras does not impact on playability.

You are given a team on the lowest rung of the league structure. You get to name them, name their ground and even name the fan club.  You can change the names of players and even poach players from other teams under the Bosman ruling.

It is without doubt the most realistic free football manager app available.

Getting started

The first thing to do is name your team, you only get 16 characters to do this with; even then, only 14 of them will appear on the fixtures list so it is best to be brief.

Try not to name your team after a big club as there are so many teams named Real Madrid or Liverpool that you will soon just become anonymous.  Try naming yourself after your favourite local team with a twist on the name, this will ensure that you are unique.

Your fan club can be up to 21 characters long but only the first 16 characters will appear so it's best to keep it brief as well.

Your stadium also needs a name, it will be named by default as '[your club's] Stadium' and to change it costs 5 tokens, quite expensive as you have lots to spend your few precious tokens on.

The league

The league starts on day three of each season.  If you've timed it well you'll be able to join just as the league starts, but don't worry if you haven't, they'll be plenty of time to make up ground.

Each league consists of 14 teams, you will play each team both home and away.  Throughout the 26 day league season there is one league match per day.

The top seven teams are promoted into the next league up.  There are no relegations.

The cup

The cup begins on day one of each season with the second leg on day two.  There are six two-legged knock-out rounds prior to the final - 128 teams take part in each cup competition and so it is important to stay in for as long as possible provided it doesn't have a detrimental effect on your league position.

The champions league

The top three teams from each league enter the next year's champions league.  This competition brings much more money than the cup or the league and so it is important so stay in for as long as possible in order to build a stronger team in the future.
